题目:

阅读下面短文, 在表格内的空白处填入合适的答案(每格限填一词)。
Some parents think grades should disappear. In their opinion, grades don’t say much about which skills a student has developed in learning. Parents only get part of the information about students’ study. The grade C in Math could mean a student might still do badly in pision (除法). It might also mean a student hand in his or her homework late. The teacher’s comments ( 评价)give more information.
But not everyone likes the idea of grade-free report cards. Some parents don’t want the change. They know an A is good and an F is bad. Teachers’ comments are not so direct. There’s also another problem. Without grades, how would students prove that they are doing well at school
Two students share their opinions on which system is more meaningful.
Benje Choucroun: Grades are outdated(过时的). The letters and numbers on report cards send the wrong message. They turn school into a game. The goal becomes getting As or high marks.
What’s more, a bad grade can hurt your confidence. And it doesn’t give you advice about how to improve. Instead of focusing on grades, students should pay close attention to teachers’ comments. They will help students to improve. Think about this: Grades have been around for more than a hundred years. Isn’t it time to try something new
Gabrielle Hurd: Grades let parents follow their kid’s progress at school. A parent can see the improvement from a C in Math on an early report card to a B on the recent one. A grade of C lets parents know their child needs more support, and an A shows skills. If schools don’t use grades, parents have to read teachers’ comments first. It takes a long time to read teachers’ words carefully. After that, they can get to know how their child is doing. As we all know, reading comments is not as easy as reading a grade. If your child wants to enter a senior high school that wants top grades, teachers’ comments may help, but the school may still need to see grades on a report card.

题目:

One morning, Emma discovered that her classroom had changed. She found that the desks were no longer in rows, but pushed together to make eight bigger desks. She was so excited about it for the first two days that she couldn't listen to the teachers carefully. But soon she and her classmates got used to this new classroom arrangement(安排). "Now our class is quieter, "said Emma. "What's more, we can come up with our own ideas and learn more through discussion. It's a better way to study. "
David liked it, too. "Group members first discuss, "he said, "and then show to the whole class. It encourages us greatly. "This was part of a reform (改革)at David's school. The school made this reform because they wanted to offer students easier ways to study and more chances to discuss. "Our school hopes to improve students' abilities to study by themselves and work in groups. "said Linda, an English teacher.
However, the reform has demanded(要求)more from teachers. Now they have only 15 minutes to give a lesson that would have been taught in 40 minutes before. It is difficult to teach in such a short time. The teachers have to find better ways to teach more effectively(有效地).
"The reform demands more, but I'm sure it is helpful. "added Linda.
